Before you begin, I want you to make a voice memo or 1-5 minute journal session answering this question. How do I feel worthy to receive a beautiful life? On a scale of 1-10, am I existing in a state of overflow, meaning I’m so filled up that everything that comes out of me is from abundance instead of fear or lack? Why?

I want you to find roses from your neighbor’s or mom’s yard; you know it’s probably IDEAL if you ask to take two dying flowers, too. Make sure they are pesticide-free, so double-check if you are buying them. Another idea is to post on social media for people in your neighborhood who have two roses you can have. But see if you can pluck them yourself.

Have fun just getting these little petals. Bring your best friend to do it with you!

As you pluck them, ideally straight from the bush, thank those beautiful beauties for stunningly growing. Hold them like the most cherished piece of artwork ever made.

Place them in your purse or your pocket…and if little bug buddies come along, MORE FRIENDS! You know we cannot always choose our friends. Sometimes they tag along…you said you wanted more friends to cure your loneliness…here you go, haha.

Ok, but really, we DON’T want to keep all the friends we make, just the aligned ones…so go rinse those buddies off in the sink. (it’s a metaphor for life, ok!) Pat your petals dry.

Then ask for 20 minutes alone, turn the tub on, or fill up a big ass bowl if you don’t have a tub, and put those petals in there along with Epsom salt, bath salts, or baking soda.

Put on some music, pull out your journal, light some candles, lock the door…whatever you need to make this magical alone time with some rose petals.

And get your lil tush in there (or tosies if you only have a bowl)!

ENJOY, play with the petals like you are little, watch where they stick on you, take some selfies for you to enjoy later or send to your partner or beloved (because WHO WOULDN’T want that?!)…heck send me your photos of your cute toes with roses, I want to see them too (if you wish to. Consent is always required, darling.)

Try diving into meditation to open up to receive beautiful messages from this plant. Who said plant medicine required you to puke your guts up or feel like your world is trippy? This is also plant medicine.

Write down your experience or leave yourself a voice memo to integrate it all in.

Remove all the petals before you drain your tub or empty your bowl. Ideally water some tomato plants or your garden with your rose water.

How did it feel to lavish yourself with the roses?

If you have time, go lay all the petals on your nude self outside in the sunshine. (wherever it’s safe to be nude…for me, it was my backyard in the middle of the work day. However, Portland does have nude beaches)…or place one on your forehead or your heart or elbow as you lay in the sun…you get to make this as wild as you want.

Whenever you’re done with your rose petals, lay them near a tomato plant or garden to reintegrate back into the earth OR dry them in the sun for 2-4 days and crush them into tea leaves to drink…again put your tea leftovers in the garden or compost.

To close your Rose Challenge, take another 1-5 to reanswer the beginning questions. How do I feel worthy to receive a beautiful life? On a scale of 1-10, am I existing in a state of overflow, meaning I’m so filled up that everything that comes out of me is from abundance instead of fear or lack? Why?

Do you feel like the Rose met you somehow?
